Namibia: Country Faces Grain Deficit4/18/2012 4:15 PM

“Namibia will need to import more grain to offset a cereal deficit of 191 400 tonnes of the 332 800 tonnes needed to meet the country's cereal consumption.

Prospects for crop production in 2012 look good and crop farmers are expecting an improved harvest this year. The harvest, however, will not be enough to cover the deficit of 191 400 tonnes needed for consumption.”
