With the smaller US and Canadian spring wheat acres and potentially smaller crop I had Lacey Ward put together the current HRS sales to the top Asian destinations. I want to start watching how the purchases progress as we move into the new crop season, we will also monitor the HRW sales for the same destinations as HRW will be much cheaper on price but will be lower protein. IF we do get a story later in the year especially on Canadian production due to drought the Asian buyers can send a message to the market if they try to front end load purchases. We can look at Latin America to but I think Asia will be a better way to watch the markets. Below are the current pace of sales – will update when we get into the new season for the 16/17 crop year.
